Zenit Zorki 4 K
Zenit · Russia · 1972–1978 (6 years) · 135 film
The Zorki 4 K is a 35mm rangefinder camera manufactured by Zenit in the Soviet Union between 1972 and 1978. As part of the Zorki series, it was a budget option designed to provide Soviet consumers with access to interchangeable lens photography at an affordable price. The camera features a cloth focal-plane shutter with speeds from 1/30 to 1/1000 second, a coupled rangefinder for focusing, and accepts M39 screw mount lenses. Like many Soviet cameras of the era, the Zorki 4 K is characterized by its functional, utilitarian design and somewhat crude construction compared to Western equivalents, yet it served its purpose of making 35mm photography accessible to Soviet citizens during the Cold War period.
